Halliwells Lands Heavyweight Corporate Team

Law firm Halliwells has made its most significant appointment of the year in Liverpool with the recruitment of corporate partner Jonathan Brown from DLA Piper.

Associates Craig Scott and Liz Clark have also resigned from DLA Piper's corporate team and accepted offers of posts from Halliwells.

They will join former colleagues Paul Jefferson - corporate partner, Colin Gibbons - litigation partner and Fiona Parry - litigation partner, who have all joined Halliwells from DLA Piper's Liverpool office in recent weeks.

In addition, Halliwells' Liverpool partner count has recently been boosted by the arrival of property specialist Sue Edwards from Hill Dickinson.

Commenting on his decision to join Halliwells, Jonathan Brown said:

"I have had a very enjoyable and successful 12 years at DLA Piper and I'm sad to be leaving a great team. However, Halliwells has made a massive impact on the Liverpool market since the firm merged with Cuff Roberts at the beginning of the year and I wanted to be part of the continuing expansion strategy.

"There's a feeling in Liverpool that Halliwells is fast becoming the new corporate heavyweight," added Jonathan, who joins the firm as an equity partner.

"The firm is investing in the city, its corporate client base is growing and the market is changing as a direct result."

"Week on week, month on month, we are gearing up our Liverpool office and Jonathan's arrival is the latest stage in the process."
