Halliwells Advises on the Assignment of the Leases of Four Retail Stores

Law firm Halliwells has continued its recent flurry of activity on behalf of JJB Sports plc by advising the retailer on the assignment of the leases of four of its retail stores.

Contracts were exchanged on Friday 28 November 2008 for the assignment of the stores located in Cardiff Bay, Salisbury, Worthing and York Davygate (together the "Stores") to Sportsdirect.com Retail Limited for aggregate cash consideration of £3.4 million (the "Transaction"). Completion will take place on Monday 1 December.

The team at Halliwells was led by corporate partner Frank Shephard and comprised corporate solicitor Richard Almond and real estate associate Steve Peel.

Commenting on the transaction, Frank Shephard said
