On acquisition finance, Halliwells has a strong practice acting for management teams, equity investors and banks on MBOs & MBIs. In addition, the Firm is involved with general corporate funding, acting for both lenders and borrowers. Together with the Corporate Department, the banking team acts on the debt financing side of "take privates".

On development finance, Halliwells acts for, amongst others, HypoVereinsbank, The Co-Operative Bank plc, Singer & Friedlander and N M Rothschild on a variety of projects involving greenfield sites, commercial investment properties and redevelopment sites. One particular area of expertise is advice to surety companies on performance bonds, particularly in PFI projects.
